Vedic astrology for a New Mexico birth
New Mexico observes Mountain time with daylight saving, and vedic astrology uses America/Denver for a birth in the state. The clocks do move here. A summer birth does not keep a year-round standard offset. Albuquerque is in that zone and is not a stand-in for every other city. The place is geocoded, the minutes are applied before the Julian day, and the sidereal lagna can change when those minutes change.

Daylight saving is part of the zone
Do not copy the no-shift habit from next door and strip an hour off a New Mexico summer time. America/Denver observes daylight saving. Type the hour the clock showed. Jyothish SI applies the daylight minutes or the standard minutes, whichever the date requires, before the Julian day. The Moon nakshatra is sidereal, Lahiri ayanamsa, Swiss Ephemeris, on that instant.
Albuquerque is one city
A birth in Albuquerque is geocoded as Albuquerque. Santa Fe, Las Cruces, or a smaller town uses America/Denver and its own name. The state word will not do. If you live in the state and were born where the clocks do not change, use that birth city. The Mountain offset on this page is for births that happened in New Mexico.
Dasha, tenth house, free chart
The Vimshottari dasha already running is the timer, and this page does not invent its year. The 10th and the lord of the 10th answer a career question. Marriage stays with the 7th, that house's lord, and the D9 Navamsa. The Kundli and the chat are both available on a free account. Paid plans bundle a PDF, extra divisional charts, and WhatsApp transit alerts.

Frequently asked questions
Does New Mexico observe daylight saving?
Yes. Vedic astrology for New Mexico uses America/Denver, and the clocks move. Do not treat a summer birth as if the state skipped daylight saving.
Is every birth calculated as Albuquerque?
No. Albuquerque shares the zone. Another New Mexico city is geocoded under its own name before the offset is applied.
What should the time field contain?
The clock time on the record. The Mountain offset for that date is applied before the Julian day. Do not convert the hour first.
