Vedic astrology for a Maryland birth
Maryland shares one Eastern zone, and vedic astrology follows America/New_York, the zone already used for Baltimore. Daylight saving changes the minutes. They are applied before the Julian day and can change the sidereal lagna. Baltimore does not stand in for a birth in another Maryland city. The state fixes the zone. The city string fixes the place.

Baltimore's zone is the state's zone
A Baltimore birth is America/New_York, with daylight saving. So is a birth in a county seat farther west or on the Eastern Shore. Type the city on the record. Do not substitute a neighboring city outside Maryland because the commute runs that way. The geocode would be wrong even if that neighbor shares Eastern time. Jyothish SI applies the offset only after the place is known.
The hour on the certificate
Type it as printed. A daylight-saving birth already shows daylight time. Converting it to standard time, then letting the software apply the daylight offset, shifts the instant by an hour the record never asked for. The Moon nakshatra is sidereal, Lahiri ayanamsa, Swiss Ephemeris, taken from the instant after the minutes are applied.
What the chat is allowed to use
A free account can generate the Kundli and chat from it. Marriage is read from the 7th house, its lord, and the D9 Navamsa. The 10th house and its lord are the career reading. Timing uses the Vimshottari dasha already running. WhatsApp transit alerts, a PDF, and extra divisional charts are paid features. The zone under all of that stays America/New_York.

Frequently asked questions
Is all of Maryland on Eastern time?
Yes. Vedic astrology for Maryland uses America/New_York, with daylight saving, statewide. Baltimore uses that zone, and so does every other city in the state.
Can I enter Baltimore for any Maryland birth?
Only if the birth was in Baltimore. Other cities share the offset and need their own geocode. The state name is not a city either.
Does daylight saving change the lagna?
It can. The daylight minutes and the standard minutes differ, and they are applied before the Julian day. Type the clock time. Do not convert it.
