Vedic astrology for an Idaho birth
Idaho splits the clock, so vedic astrology cannot treat Boise and the northern panhandle as one zone. Boise uses Mountain time. The northern panhandle uses Pacific time. A state label cannot settle which offset applies. The birth city does. That city is geocoded, and the minutes are applied before the Julian day. Daylight saving on the side you belong to can still move the sidereal lagna.

Boise stays on Mountain time
A birth in Boise is a Mountain-time birth. Type Boise, not Idaho, and not a panhandle town. The form takes the date, the clock time, and the city. The Mountain offset for that date is applied before the Julian day. If daylight saving was in effect, those are the minutes that enter the calculation. Do not convert the hour yourself, and do not borrow a Pacific label because the state contains one.
The panhandle is Pacific
The northern panhandle uses Pacific time. A birth there is not a Boise chart with a different label. This page will not guess a town for you. Residents of Boise who were born in the panhandle, or the reverse, follow the birth city. The place you live now does not donate its offset. If all you remember is the state, the Kundli has two zones and no basis for choosing.
After the side is chosen
The sidereal chart uses the Lahiri ayanamsa and Swiss Ephemeris. The return is the lagna, the sidereal Moon nakshatra, and the Vimshottari period in progress. Marriage stays with the 7th, that house's lord, and the D9 Navamsa. A free account can generate that Kundli and chat about it. The wrong side of the Idaho split moves the lagna before any of those readings start.

Frequently asked questions
Is Boise on Mountain time or Pacific time?
Mountain time. Vedic astrology for the northern panhandle of Idaho uses Pacific time. The birth city decides which offset is applied before the Julian day.
Can I enter Idaho instead of the city?
No. The offset is not something the state name can decide. The Kundli needs the birth city so the place can be geocoded and the correct minutes chosen.
What returns once the city is right?
Expect the sidereal lagna, the Moon nakshatra, and whichever Vimshottari dasha is already on. A free account can also chat about that chart.
