Voice, Song, and the 2nd House

The voice is the 2nd house. Performance, skill, and the courage to be heard are the 3rd. Venus is the karaka of music, scent, and the arts of pleasure. Mercury joins when the question is lyric, speech, or dexterity. A person with Venus in the 2nd, or the 2nd lord strong and tied to Venus, has a chart reason to be heard. A person with Venus in the 3rd spends art as skill and short-form performance. The Sun sign can be shared by a singer and by someone who never sings, because the 2nd house changes with the lagna every two hours.

A song assigned to a rashi describes the songwriter's mood. It does not describe the 2nd lord.

Venus mahadasha, 20 years, is the long window for music if Venus owns or occupies the 2nd or 3rd. Mercury's 17 years favor lyric and craft. A 3rd-lord period favors practice and showing up. None of these periods is encoded in a chorus. The Moon's nakshatra can color the emotional style, Rohini in the Moon's exaltation often called sweet, Ashlesha more piercing, and the style is still not a track list.

The 5th house adds composition and play. A 5th lord in the 2nd ties invention to the voice. That is a combination. A sun-sign anthem is not.
