Why Ruby Is Set in Gold

Ruby is worn in gold because both are assigned to the Sun, and splitting them mixes Surya with another lord. Pearl, the Moon's gem, and diamond, Venus's gem, are set in silver. Blue sapphire, Saturn's gem, is set in silver or iron. Putting ruby in silver borrows the lunar metal for a solar stone.
