The Hardest Slice of Rahu Mahadasha

Rahu mahadasha lasts 18 years, and it is not one phase. The antardashas run in order: Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus, the Sun, the Moon, and Mars. Rahu-Rahu opens. Mars closes. Jupiter mahadasha, 16 years, begins after Mars. Asking which phase is worst without a chart is asking which of these nine lords is weak for you. The weak one is the answer. A debilitated Saturn makes Rahu-Saturn the heavy slice. A fallen Venus makes Rahu-Venus the heavy slice, even though Venus is a benefic.

The length of each slice is that lord's years times 18, divided by 120. Saturn's slice is long. The Sun's is short. Length and pain are not the same.

If Rahu is in the 8th or 12th, every phase inherits a difficult container, and the worst guest makes it worse. If Rahu is in the 11th, the container is gains, and a hard antardasha is a rough market inside a workable 18 years. People who fear the whole mahadasha are often inside one bad antardasha and forecasting the rest from it.

The sign lord of Rahu's house is a phase of special importance, whenever that lord's antardasha arrives. Mercury's turn matters more if Rahu is in Gemini or Virgo than if Rahu is in Cancer.

No remedy deletes Rahu-Saturn and delivers you to Venus. The order is fixed from the nakshatra balance. You can know which phase is next and stop treating the current one as the definition of Rahu. When Mars finishes, the dreadful label should retire with the period, unless Jupiter's own houses are also hard.

Name the antardasha you are in, judge that planet, and call that phase worst only if the planet earns it.
