Sade Sati on Study and Career

Sade sati is Saturn's transit through the 12th from the natal Moon, then the Moon's own sign, then the 2nd from the Moon. Each phase lasts about as long as Saturn stays in a sign, roughly two and a half years, so the whole is about seven and a half. Education is the 4th house and the 5th. Career is the 10th, counted from the lagna, while this transit is counted from the Moon. Study or work is touched only when the Moon sits so those houses overlap the sade sati signs.

If the Moon is in the 10th, the middle phase crosses the career house. If the Moon is in the 4th, schooling is in the path. If the Moon is elsewhere, sade sati can be heavy in mood and light on the job.

A transit does not hand a result the mahadasha refuses. Saturn crossing the 10th during the 10th lord's period can time a job change, a load of duty, or a delay in recognition. The same crossing during a mahadasha that never touches the 10th is weather. Saturn mahadasha, 19 years, overlapping sade sati feels largest because the transit and the period lord are the same graha.

Mercury's condition matters for study more than the transit slogan. Mercury debilitated in Pisces will struggle in school with or without sade sati. A strong 5th lord can pass exams inside the middle phase.

The middle phase, Saturn on the Moon, presses the mind's karaka. That can make study feel dull or a job feel relentless. It is not a diagnosis, and this page will not name one. The setting phase, Saturn in the 2nd from the Moon, leans to family, speech, and money, which can affect fees and support for school more than the classroom itself.

Cast the Moon sign before you blame a bad term on sade sati. Then see whether the 4th, 5th, or 10th is actually under that Saturn. The running dasha decides if the pressure becomes an event.
