Rahu, Ketu, and Love Marriage

Rahu and Ketu take a role in love marriage when they touch the 5th, romance, or the 7th, the contract. Rahu in the 5th puts appetite in courtship and puts Ketu in the 11th, so the friend-circle and gains house goes quiet or strange while the romance runs hot. Rahu in the 7th puts appetite in the marriage itself and puts Ketu in the lagna, so the person feels personally unbound while the partnership obsesses. Ketu in the 7th is the reverse axis: Rahu in the 1st, and detachment sitting in the spouse's house.

These are not the same as Venus in the 5th with no node. The node is what makes the match unconventional or resisted by the family script.

A love marriage, nodal or not, is stronger when the 5th lord and the 7th lord conjoin, aspect, or exchange. Rahu can inflame a romance that never becomes a 7th-house event. Do not call every Rahu-in-the-5th chart a wedding. Call it hunger in the romance house, then check the 7th lord and the Navamsa.

For a woman, Jupiter signifies the husband. A Rahu-Jupiter conjunction, Guru Chandal, in the 5th or 7th ties the husband significator to the node. That is a more specific love-marriage signature than Rahu alone.

Rahu's 18 years or Ketu's 7 years bring the axis forward, especially if the node occupies the 5th or 7th. Venus's 20 years can marry the person inside a nodal chart if Venus is the 7th lord or sits with Rahu. The family resistance people associate with love marriage is a social fact. The chart's version is the node on the 5th or 7th during one of those periods.

The axis does not name the partner. It describes the style: sudden, foreign, against the expected arrangement, or strangely fated and thin on ordinary comfort when Ketu is the one in the 7th.
