How Mars and Saturn Regard Each Other

In the natural relationship table, Saturn regards Mars as an enemy, and Mars regards Saturn as neutral. They are not a friendly pair, and they are not a symmetrical enmity. A conjunction of the two is heat meeting delay in one sign: action that stalls, or endurance that runs hot. The house they share is where the argument lives. In the 3rd or 6th or 11th, the upachayas, the friction can become work. In the 7th it becomes a marriage that is both urgent and slow.

Mars mahadasha is 7 years. Saturn's is 19. The longer period belongs to the planet who is less friendly. A chart that must live both periods feels Mars as a sprint and Saturn as a climate.

For Cancer and Leo, Mars is yogakaraka and Saturn is not. For Taurus and Libra, Saturn is yogakaraka and Mars is not. The relationship in the sky stays the same. The relationship to the lagna reverses. Advising every person to strengthen Saturn because Saturn is discipline, or Mars because Mars is courage, ignores who actually owns the trikona.
