Saturn Conjunct Rahu

Saturn conjunct Rahu joins the karaka of delay, duty, and endurance with the north node in one rashi. The combination slows whatever house it occupies and gives that house an unusual, sometimes outcast or foreign, method. Later writers call the pair Shrapit yoga, a cursed pairing. The conjunction is real. The curse is a nickname, not a procedure and not a reason to fear a person. Ketu occupies the opposite sign and supplies the severing end of the same axis.

Saturn's mahadasha is 19 years. Rahu's is 18. Either activates the pair, and Saturn-Rahu or Rahu-Saturn antardasha is the slice where both lords run together.

In the 10th, the pair describes a slow, unconventional career, often with institutions, labor, or public rules. In the 11th, gains come late and by an odd route, which is more workable because the 11th is an upachaya. In the 7th, marriage is delayed and unusual. In the 8th, the longevity and crisis house carries both malefics, which is the heavier seat.

Saturn exalted in Libra beside Rahu is the capable version: structure at full dignity, with Rahu still attached. Saturn debilitated in Aries beside Rahu is the same yoga with Saturn fallen. Do not export the Libra reading to Aries.

Blue sapphire strengthens Saturn. Hessonite strengthens Rahu. Wearing both because a page said Shrapit feeds the conjunction you found heavy. Consider a stone only for the lord whose dasha is running and whose house is workable, and only after the Navamsa agrees.

Jupiter's aspect on the pair, from the 5th, 7th, or 9th relative to Jupiter, is the chart's own witness. It does not separate Saturn from Rahu. The years still have to be lived under whichever of the two mahadashas is actually in force.
