Gems Do Not Remove Kaal Sarp Dosha

Kaal Sarp dosha is the condition in which every planet from the Sun through Saturn lies on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis. Rahu is the head and Ketu the tail. The planets are hemmed. They are not required to share one sign. A gem cannot pick up Jupiter and set it on the other side of the node. Hessonite, Rahu's stone, and cat's eye, Ketu's stone, strengthen the nodes. If the complaint is that the nodes already dominate the chart, strengthening them is a strange removal.

Some readers treat a planet conjunct Rahu or Ketu as a break in the hem. That is a judgment about the conjunction, not a gem.

A node gem is discussable when that node occupies an upachaya, the 3rd, 6th, or 11th, and its mahadasha is running or about to run. Rahu's period is 18 years. Ketu's is 7. The stone then supports a period you have already accepted, in a house where malefics are allowed to work. It still does not delete Kaal Sarp. The other planets remain on one side of the axis.

If Rahu is in the 7th or the 8th, feeding Rahu with hessonite aims the 18 years more strongly at marriage or at the longevity house. That is the opposite of a removal.

The useful work is to see which houses the axis cuts and which mahadasha is running. A hemmed Jupiter still rules its houses. Those houses operate in Jupiter's 16 years with a nodal flavor, not in a gem's glow. The Navamsa shows whether the hemmed planet has private strength the birth chart's traffic jam hides.

Puja at a temple is a religious act people choose for this pattern. It is not a gem and it is not a new ephemeris. After the rite, cast the chart again only if you doubted the birth time, not because Rahu moved.
