The Aayu Bhava, the 8th House

The aayu bhava is the 8th house, also called randhra, the house of longevity, breaks, inheritance, secrecy, and sudden change. Saturn is the co-significator of longevity alongside the 8th lord and the lagna lord. Classical ayurdaya systems, such as Pindayu, Nisargayu, and Amsayu, exist for readers who are trained to use them. They are not a result this page will compute, and they are not a medical prediction.

A planet in the 8th describes a life topic that runs through crisis, research, or other people's resources. It does not stamp a short life on the native by itself.

The 8th lord in a kendra or trikona gives the longevity house a manager who also touches the life direction. The 8th lord in the 8th is a concentrated version of the same topics. Viparita logic, Sarala yoga, even treats the 8th lord in the 6th or 12th as a rise through crisis. A house with a bad reputation can be the engine of a yoga.

The dasha of the 8th lord is when those topics get years. If the 8th lord is Venus, that is a 20-year mahadasha with 8th-house content, not a 20-year sentence. Read dignity. Venus debilitated in Virgo as 8th lord is heavier than Venus in its own Libra.

Asking the aayu bhava for a death age, a disease, or a relative's fate is the question the house attracts and the question a responsible reading declines in public. The 2nd and 7th lords are the maraka grahas in the longevity chapter, a role, not a weapon. Naming them explains the tradition. It does not instruct anyone to time harm.

Use the 8th to understand breaks, joint money, and the need for the lagna lord to be strong. Keep the year of death out of the paragraph.
