Shani Dasha and Its Effects

Shani dasha is Saturn mahadasha, 19 years. The effects follow the houses Saturn rules from the lagna and the sign Saturn occupies. Exalted Saturn in Libra spends the period with capacity and structure. Debilitated Saturn in Aries spends it with the graha at its weakest. Own signs Capricorn and Aquarius keep Saturn competent. A single list of effects for every Shani dasha ignores that spread.

The antardashas run Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, and Jupiter. The opening Saturn-Saturn slice is a little over three years of undiluted Saturn. Later slices bring other lords into Saturn's container.
