What Kendradhipati Dosha Is

Kendradhipati dosha is the trouble assigned to Jupiter or Venus when that planet owns a kendra, one of the 1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th, and does not also own a trikona, the 5th or the 9th. A natural benefic is supposed to give ease. As a pure kendra lord it is said to become dry, managerial, or awkwardly placed. Mercury is sometimes dragged into the same talk. The clean classical complaint is Jupiter and Venus.

Mars and Saturn do not take this dosha for owning a kendra. When they own a kendra and a trikona together they become yogakaraka. The dosha is not a general curse on angular houses.

For Gemini lagna, Jupiter rules the 7th and the 10th, both kendras, and no trikona. That is the textbook case. For Virgo lagna, Jupiter rules the 4th and the 7th, again both kendras. Venus for Cancer rules the 4th and the 11th, so the 4th lordship raises the issue while the 11th is not a trikona. Venus for Capricorn rules the 5th and the 10th, a trikona and a kendra, and is yogakaraka. The dosha does not apply. The same is true of Venus for Aquarius, lord of the 4th and the 9th.

If you call every angular Jupiter a dosha, you will condemn yogas that are actually the chart's best planet.

Jupiter mahadasha is 16 years and Venus mahadasha is 20, dosha or not. Kendradhipati qualifies the sweetness of those years. It does not cancel a strong sign. Jupiter in its own Sagittarius for a Gemini lagna is the 7th lord in the 7th, which is a strong marriage placement wearing a kendradhipati label. Read both facts.

The Navamsa can make the benefic graceful again, or confirm the dryness. Do not sell a gem to remove a lordship. Lordship cannot be removed. Yellow sapphire strengthens Jupiter. That is a poor plan if the complaint is that Jupiter's kendra lordship is already too strong a burden.
