Only after that do Mercury, Ketu, Venus, the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Rahu, and Jupiter take their turns. The first feeling of the period is Saturn's own nature: weight, delay, duty, and the houses Saturn rules, without another lord yet mixing the theme.

Saturn exalted in Libra begins those years with capacity. Saturn debilitated in Aries begins them with the graha at its weakest sign. The start does not invent a new Saturn. It spends the one in the chart.

Sade sati is a transit of Saturn over the 12th, 1st, and 2nd from the natal Moon. Saturn mahadasha is a Vimshottari period of 19 years. They can overlap, and when they do the transit feels louder because the dasha lord and the transiting planet are the same graha. They are still different clocks. A person can enter Saturn mahadasha with Saturn nowhere near the Moon, and can endure sade sati during Venus mahadasha.
