What Another Person Notices First

What another person notices first is the lagna, the sign on the eastern horizon, and the planet that rules it. That is posture, face, pace, and the immediate manner. The Sun sign is the solar month. It can stay the same for everyone born that month while their lagnas run through all twelve signs. A notice attributed to Aries as a sun sign is answering a different chart from the one Jyotish reads.

The lagna lord in the 1st makes the manner obvious. The lagna lord in the 12th makes the person harder to read at a first meeting. Venus in the lagna adds the karaka of charm to the body people see.

The observer is not a blank rashi. Their Venus and their 7th house describe what they are built to register in a partner. A person with Venus in an earth sign and a 7th lord in the 2nd may notice voice and steadiness. A person with Rahu in the 7th may notice what is unusual. Those are their placements, not a universal script for their sun sign.

Two observers with the same Moon sign and different lagnas do not share a 7th house. Matching by sun sign throws away the house that actually looks.

The rising sign shifts about every two hours. Daylight saving changes the zone offset applied before the Julian day, so it can change the lagna for a birth in a region that observes it. India uses Asia/Kolkata all year, with no daylight saving. A New York birth uses America/New_York, which does observe it. The same clock hour is not the same lagna in both places.

Ask for the birth city and the time before you say what a stranger noticed. The twelve-line list cannot see the eastern horizon.
