Can Eight Planets Conjoin in One Sign?
An eight-body pileup in a single rashi cannot include both lunar nodes. They are always opposite each other.

Why both nodes cannot join
Rahu and Ketu always occupy opposite rashis. A conjunction that claims eight planets in one sign of the lagna chart cannot contain both nodes plus the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. That would be nine bodies, and the two nodes would be breaking the opposition that defines them.
What can happen is the seven visible planets with one node. Ketu then stands alone in the opposite sign, or Rahu does, if Ketu is the node inside the crowd. If a display shows both nodes in that sign, the software is mixing a house that spans two rashis, or it is counting a point that is not a graha.
What a true stellium means
When many planets share one rashi, that sign's lord carries an unusual share of the life, and the house that rashi occupies from the lagna becomes crowded. The dashas of those planets repeat the same house topics for decades, because each mahadasha hands the event to a tenant of one place. The house matters more than the headcount. Seven planets in the 10th are a public life. Seven planets in the 12th are a life spent on expense, foreign places, or seclusion.
Combustion piles up in such a crowd because several planets can sit near the Sun. Mercury is often close to the Sun anyway. A combust planet is weakened for its own topics even though it shares the house.
Kaal Sarp is a different pattern
Kaal Sarp hems the seven planets on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis. They may be spread through several signs between the nodes. A single-sign stellium with one node is tighter than that hem, and it is rarer. Do not use the Kaal Sarp label for a crowd that does not leave all seven on one side of the axis.
Read the lord of the occupied sign, then the mahadasha in force. The conjunction has no meaning as a lucky number. Eight is not a yoga. The house is the yoga.
Frequently asked questions
Can Rahu and Ketu sit in the same sign?
No. They occupy opposite rashis. A chart that draws them together has mixed two signs into one house, or it has mis-assigned a point.
Is a stellium a raja yoga?
Only if a kendra lord and a trikona lord among the crowd are actually joined. The count of planets is not itself a raja yoga.
Which dasha activates a stellium?
The mahadasha of any planet in the crowd, especially the lord of the sign they occupy. Each period repeats that house's topics.
