No House Is Exempt From Rahu

If Rahu is in the 10th, career is the direct theme. If it is in the 4th, home is. Ketu occupies the opposite house, so an empty-looking 4th can still be Ketu's house while Rahu is in the 10th. Asking which houses Rahu does not affect usually hopes for a safe room. The safer statement is narrower: the house Rahu does not occupy and whose lord is neither Rahu's dispositor nor conjunct Rahu is only indirectly involved. Indirect is not exempt. The mahadasha of 18 years will still be the weather of the whole life, louder in Rahu's house.

Rahu in Taurus is Venus's guest. Every house Venus rules then carries Rahu's period into those departments. For a Cancer lagna Venus rules the 4th and the 11th, so a Rahu elsewhere, disposited by Venus, still pulls home and gains into the 18 years. For an Aries lagna Venus rules the 2nd and the 7th, so family money and marriage are pulled in. The occupied house and the dispositor's houses are the affected set. It changes with the lagna. A universal list of safe houses cannot exist.

Some lineages give Rahu Saturn-like aspects and some give it Jupiter-like ones. Because they disagree, this page does not add a third set of houses by aspect. The two layers that are stable are enough: the occupied house, with Ketu opposite, and the houses of the dispositor. During Rahu mahadasha those are the rooms to read. Outside it, Rahu is a natal capacity and the current lord may outtalk it. Exemption is the wrong hope. Specificity is the reading.
