Vrishchik Rashi: Mars's Sign and the Moon's Fall

Mars in Scorpio is in its own sign, one of two, with Aries. That Mars is often treated as a stronger, sometimes milder, Mangal influence if it also occupies a manglik house, because dignity softens the scare word. The Moon in Scorpio has no such comfort. Scorpio is the Moon's debilitation. The mind-karaka is weak there, subject only to a real neecha bhanga. Ketu's presence is common in popular Scorpio talk because the nodes travel, and this page will not fix an exaltation sign for Ketu. The settled dignities are Mars's ownership and the Moon's fall.

Scorpio is sthira, with Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. It is water, with Cancer and Pisces. It is the natural 8th sign, which is why it is loaded with crisis language. Your 8th house is Scorpio only if your lagna is Aries. For a Scorpio lagna, Scorpio is the 1st, Mars is the lagna lord and also the 6th lord, because Aries is the 6th, and the 7th lord is Venus, Taurus. A Scorpio Sun, a Scorpio Moon, and a Scorpio lagna are three different charts. Trait lists collapse them into one suspicious native.

Vishakha ends and Anuradha begins in Scorpio, and Jyeshtha finishes the sign. Anuradha's dasha lord is Saturn. Jyeshtha's is Mercury. A Moon in Jyeshtha therefore opens a Mercury mahadasha at birth, 17 years full, of which only the balance remains, and that Moon is debilitated by sign. A Moon in Anuradha opens Saturn, 19 years full, also in the fall sign of the Moon. The nakshatra splits one debilitation into two clocks. That split is the useful special fact. A single personality paragraph cannot hold it.
