Kannada Wedding Tithi Names, Not the 2023 Dates

Padyami is the first tithi, bidige the second, tadige the third, chauti the fourth. The rest of the paksha continues under its own Kannada forms up to hunnime, the full Moon, or amavasya. The muhurta bans are the same bans as in a Sanskrit panchang, because the Moon is the same Moon. Chauti, navami, and chaturdashi are the rikta set. Amavasya is avoided for a wedding. Bhadra is avoided. A preferred nakshatra such as Rohini, Hasta, Swati, or Revati still has to clear those bans. Language does not create a second astronomy.

The couple's charts are read first. The 7th lord or Venus should be the period, if the family wants the clock and the rite to agree. Then the Kannada panchang of the wedding town supplies tithi and nakshatra. Karnataka uses India time, Asia/Kolkata, UTC plus 5 hours 30 minutes, with no daylight saving. The lagna of the hour is still chosen fixed if possible. A 2023 printed maduve list mixed one year's weekdays with these names. Keep the names. Drop the year.

A mundan uses the child's janma nakshatra. A griha pravesha uses the 4th house and a fixed lagna for staying. A maduve uses the 7th and the marriage stars. One Kannada sheet that offers all three rites on one inherited 2023 morning is three rules forced onto one sunrise. If that morning truly satisfied all three, it was a coincidence of that panchang. It is not a template for the next child, the next house, and the next couple.
