Vasant Panchami and Saraswati

Vasant Panchami is Saraswati's day on Magha Shukla Panchami, and learning questions tied to that vow sit in the 5th house. Panchami is the fifth lunar day. Shukla is the bright fortnight. Magha is the lunar month. Together they are the rule that finds the day on a Lahiri calendar, and the civil date moves. The 4th house is basic schooling and the home where a child studies. The 5th is intelligence and the mantra of learning. The 9th is higher study and the teacher. A student can be weak in one and fine in another. Emerald follows Mercury only after the chart names him. A yellow cloth on Panchami does not imply yellow sapphire, which is Jupiter's stone and a different naming. Children as offspring are also the 5th, and this festival is a poor substitute for that reading. Books are not a conception yoga.

Clean the books you use, place them for the worship if that is your custom, and do not start a new contentious signature during the puja itself if your family treats the morning as sacred to the instruments. Those are domestic manners. They are not a muhurta for a contract, which would need the Moon's nakshatra and a real election. The 10th house still decides whether learning becomes a career. Saraswati on the 5th and a broken 10th lord is an educated person waiting for a post, and the dasha of the 10th lord is what changes the post. Keep the fifth tithi of bright Magha when the panchang says it has arrived. Ignore any page that has already picked a weekday for you without that panchang.
