A Graha's Flaw Is Its Debilitation

A sign does not have a moral flaw. A graha in its debilitation sign is weak in the topics it rules. The Sun in Libra is weak authority. The Moon in Scorpio is a strained mind, and Scorpio is also where Jyeshtha and Anuradha sit, so a Moon in those stars is in the debilitation sign. Mars in Cancer is weak courage and a weak land-karaka. Mercury in Pisces is weak analysis. Jupiter in Capricorn is weak wisdom and the putrakaraka under strain. Venus in Virgo is weak charm and comfort. Saturn in Aries is weak structure. If your chart does not contain that placement, you do not carry that flaw, whatever your Sun sign's reputation.

A debilitated planet in the 10th wounds the career topics of that graha. The same planet in the 3rd wounds courage and siblings instead. Neecha bhanga, cancellation of debilitation, has classical conditions, often involving the lord of the debilitation sign in a kendra from the lagna or the Moon. It is not awarded because the person is famous. Until the condition is actually present, the debilitation stands. Exaltation is the opposite table: Sun in Aries, Moon in Taurus, Mars in Capricorn, Mercury in Virgo, Jupiter in Cancer, Venus in Pisces, Saturn in Libra.

Mercury mahadasha lasts 17 years. If Mercury is debilitated in Pisces, those years carry a weak Mercury, in whatever house Pisces is from the lagna. Jupiter's 16 years do the same if Jupiter is in Capricorn. Outside that mahadasha the weak graha is a background fact. Lists of flaws for every zodiac sign describe people who may not have the weak graha at all. Cast the chart. Circle only the grahas that are actually neecha. That short list is the flaw.
