The Birth Month Is Not Your Janma Rashi
The Moon changes signs about every two and a quarter days, so one civil birth month contains many Chandra rashis. A list of acts banned for the whole birth month is not a rule of the janma nakshatra.

Month, solar sign, lunar star
A birthday in a Gregorian month is a civil fact. If the sidereal Sun stays in one sign that month, you share a Surya rashi with other people born then. You do not share a Moon sign. Chandra rashi moves on in a little over two days, and the nakshatra moves faster still, twenty-seven stars around the sky. Janma nakshatra is the star the Moon occupied at your minute of birth. Some samskara muhurtas avoid repeating that star on the day of the rite. That is a one-day lunar caution, not a thirty-day ban on haircuts, contracts, or travel.
What a personal caution can be
Sade Sati is personal, and it is Saturn on the 12th, 1st, and 2nd from your Moon, for years, not for your birth month. The mahadasha is personal, and it lasts 6 to 20 years depending on the lord. The tithi you were born on, the janma tithi, is sometimes treated carefully when it returns. It returns about once a lunar month, for one tithi, not for the English month printed on a form. Rikta tithis, the 4th, 9th, and 14th, are avoided for shubha starts for everybody, regardless of birthday.
How the fear-list gets written
Pages that assign each birth month a forbidden act are numbering January through December. Vimshottari has no such table. If you want a personal no, compute the chart. See whether the 8th lord's antardasha is running, or whether you are in the middle phase of Sade Sati, Saturn on your Moon sign. Those are real constraints, and they do not care which Gregorian month you were born in. The birth city still decides the lagna, which decides who the 8th lord is.
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone born in the same month share a Moon sign?
No. The Moon changes rashi about every two and a quarter days. They may share the Sun's sign if the Sun has not changed.
What is a real personal caution?
The running mahadasha, Sade Sati from your Moon, and, for some rites, a return of the janma nakshatra on that single day.
Are rikta tithis based on the birthday?
No. The 4th, 9th, and 14th lunar days are avoided for many starts for everyone. They come from the panchang, not from the birth month.
