Marriage Yogas and the 7th Lord's Period

Kendra houses are 1, 4, 7, and 10. Trikona houses are 1, 5, and 9. A 7th lord in one of those places has a structural path into the life. Venus, the kalatra karaka, agreeing with that lord by conjunction or aspect is the second support. Malavya yoga, Venus in its own sign or exaltation and in a kendra, is a strong Venus, and it helps marriage only when that Venus also connects to the 7th. A raja yoga of the 9th and 10th lords can raise the person's status and still leave the 7th lord in the 12th. Do not borrow a career yoga and call it a marriage.

Mars in the 7th is Mangal dosha, one of the six houses 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, and 12. It can sit beside an otherwise sound 7th lord. The reading is both facts: a capable lord, and Mars in the marriage house. Mars in Aries, Scorpio, or Capricorn is often treated as a softer Mars. The Navamsa 7th is the check. A birth-chart yoga that disappears in D9 was a wedding-chart promise the lived marriage does not fully inherit.

Venus mahadasha lasts 20 years. If Venus is the 7th lord, those years are the marriage chapter by definition. If the 7th lord is Saturn, the chapter is 19 years and it will feel like Saturn even when the yoga is supportive: slower, more binding, more dutiful. An antardasha of the 6th lord inside that mahadasha is the quarrel inside an otherwise yogic marriage. The impact people want, peace or trouble, follows the bhukti. The yoga is the capacity. The bhukti is the month you are in.
