Surya Rashi and Chandra Rashi Are Different Clocks

The Moon's orbit relative to the stars carries it through a sign in a little over two days. The Sun takes a full solar month. Two people born the same week can share a Surya rashi and hold completely different Chandra rashis. Their Sade Sati will not match, because Sade Sati is Saturn's transit through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd from each person's natal Moon. Their guna milan scores will not match either, because all eight kootas are Moon-to-Moon tests.

Surya rashi shows where authority and the father-principle sit, and whether the Sun is exalted in Aries or debilitated in Libra. It does not name the lagna. Chandra rashi shows the mind and the mother, and it chooses the nakshatra lord who is running at birth. If the Moon is in Rohini, the birth dasha lord is the Moon, whose full mahadasha is 10 years, and only the balance remains. If the Moon is in Ardra, the birth dasha lord is Rahu, whose full span is 18 years. The Sun's sign cannot tell you which of those you were born into.

Janma lagna can differ from both the Sun and the Moon. Houses of marriage and career are counted from it. A person who knows only a solar sign and a lunar sign knows two grahas and still does not know the 7th lord. The birth time and city produce the lagna. Daylight saving changes the offset in places that observe it, and the rising sign can flip. Ask for all three signs, and ask which question each one is allowed to answer.
