Rahu in the 12th House: Expense, Distance, and Retreat

The 12th is vyaya, outflow. Rahu makes the outflow large and unusual: a foreign salary that is also a foreign cost, a research life, a budget that leaks into travel, or a gift for retreat that looks like loss to the family. It is not automatically ruin. An investment is also an expenditure. The 12th lord's dignity decides whether the outflow has a return. For Mesha lagna the 12th is Meena, so Jupiter rules the house Rahu occupies, and Jupiter's condition is part of the phal. For Vrishabha the 12th lord is Mars. The phal is not identical for every rising sign.

Rahu mahadasha pours the 12th for eighteen years, split into antardashas. Rahu-Saturn inside it is 18 times 19 divided by 120, just under three years, a heavy administrative slice of the foreign or private theme. Ketu's seven-year mahadasha then emphasizes the 6th pole.
