Guru Chandal Yoga: Jupiter Conjunct Rahu

Jupiter is exalted in Karka and debilitated in Makara. Rahu, in the list most Parashari students use, is exalted in Vrishabha. The conjunction can therefore be a strong Jupiter with Rahu, a weak Jupiter with Rahu, or a middling one. Calling every case Chandal and stopping is how the name became a scare. In the 9th, the pair touches dharma directly. In the 10th, it touches public teaching or a career that uses belief. In the 5th, it touches intelligence and children, and the children question still needs the 5th lord, not only the nickname. Jupiter's aspects carry the conjunction's tone into the 5th, 7th, and 9th from the occupied sign, so a 1st-house conjunction looks at the 5th, 7th, and 9th.

Rahu conjunct Jupiter means Ketu is in the opposite sign, unoccupied by Jupiter. The axis is wisdom on one side and detachment on the other. If the pair is in the 9th, Ketu falls in the 3rd. If the pair is in the 1st, Ketu falls in the 7th, which puts detachment on marriage while Rahu enlarges the self through Jupiter. That geometry is more useful than the yoga's reputation. Debilitation of Jupiter in Makara with Rahu is the harder dignity. Exaltation in Karka with Rahu is a loud, not automatically ruined, Jupiter. Neecha bhanga can apply to the debilitated case under the usual cancellation rules. The name of the yoga does not cancel the cancellation.

Rahu-Jupiter lasts 18 times 16 divided by 120, which is 2 years and about 5 months as well, the same product. Those slices are the loud windows. A Thursday practice suits Jupiter.
