Online Matching Works When Both Birth Times Are Real

Online kundli matching works when the software computes both Moon nakshatras from verified birth times and cities, then scores the 36 Ashtakoota points and still shows both 7th houses. It fails when a date is typed without a time, because the Moon can change nakshatra inside one day and the lagna changes about every two hours. Jyothish SI uses Lahiri ayanamsa and Swiss Ephemeris for that computation. The arithmetic is only as honest as the minutes you enter.

What the screen is actually doing

The birth city is geocoded. The zone offset, in minutes, is applied before the Julian day. Daylight saving changes that offset where it is observed, and can change the lagna. The sidereal Moon is then placed in a nakshatra, and the eight kootas are a lookup: varna 1, vashya 2, tara 3, yoni 4, graha maitri 5, gana 6, bhakoot 7, nadi 8. That lookup is mechanical and, given the true Moon, reliable. The myth is that the total replaces judgment. A score of 30 with Mangal dosha in one chart and a 7th lord in the 8th is not a green light. A score of 16 with a classical Nadi exception and strong D9 is not a red light. The software should show the parts, not only the sum.

Where online matching goes false

Noon assumed for an unknown time is a different chart. A Moon near Jyeshtha and Mula can be assigned the wrong nadi, the wrong gana, and the wrong dasha lord together. A lagna near a sign boundary assigns the wrong 7th lord, so the marriage reading beside the gunas is about a stranger's chart. Cities matter inside one country: Indian clocks share Asia/Kolkata, and the horizon does not. Two hospitals do not share a sunrise. An app that skips the city or flattens daylight saving for a foreign birth will mis-score tara and the 7th house in one gesture. The remedy is better data, not a second app with the same noon default.

A working order

Enter both cities and both clock times. Read Nadi and Bhakoot before you celebrate the total, because they are 8 and 7 points. Then read Mangal dosha from lagna, Moon, and Venus. Then read both 7th lords and both D9 charts. Time any wedding talk to the 7th lord's antardasha or to Venus's twenty-year mahadasha. A free Jyothish SI account can generate the kundlis and chat through them. Paid plans add PDF reports and extra divisional charts. Online matching works as a calculator of real nakshatras. It does not work as a fortune cookie attached to two dates.

Frequently asked questions

When does an online match fail?

When a birth time is missing or guessed. The Moon can change nakshatra in a day, and the lagna changes about every two hours, taking the 7th lord with it.

Is a high total enough?

No. Read Nadi, Bhakoot, Mangal dosha, both 7th lords, and both D9 charts. Eighteen of 36 is only a customary caution line.

Which ayanamsa does the match use here?

Lahiri, with Swiss Ephemeris. The city sets the zone offset, applied in minutes before the Julian day.
