Yoni Is a Matching Score, Not the Whole Mind

The matching tradition uses fourteen yonis, pairing the twenty-seven nakshatras into animal types. Same yoni scores high. Hostile pairs score low or zero on those 4 points. The rest of the guna sheet, especially Nadi at 8 and Bhakoot at 7, can outweigh a yoni quarrel or expose a yoni friendship that still fails Nadi. Reading a personality off the animal name, as if a dog-yoni Moon must behave like a dog, flattens a 4-point koota into a zodiac column. The Moon in Mula is a Ketu nakshatra in early Dhanu, disposited by Jupiter. The dog is only the yoni column of that star.

The lagna lord shows how the person meets the world. The Moon shows the mind and starts the dasha. Mercury shows speech. A Venus mahadasha of twenty years will look more Venusian than the birth yoni, because the period lord colors conduct for its full span, with antardashas inside it. Saturn's antardasha inside that Venus period lasts 20 times 19 divided by 120 and will sober the same person without changing Mula's yoni from dog to anything else. Yoni is fixed at birth. Behavior moves with the dasha. D9 pada of the Moon refines temperament further, one quarter of the nakshatra at a time.

Use it when two charts are being matched, after both Moon nakshatras are known from verified times. Do not use it to hire, to diagnose, or to explain a child. Near a star boundary the yoni can flip with an hour of error, which is a larger personality mistake than people expect from a 4-point item.
