Moksha Yoga: 12th House, Ketu, and Jupiter

Dharma uses houses 1, 5, and 9. Artha uses 2, 6, and 10. Kama uses 3, 7, and 11. Moksha uses 4, 8, and 12. The 4th is the inner room and the end of the day. The 8th is the break that strips a life down. The 12th is where the stripping is offered or spent. Ketu in the 12th is the plainest moksha signature in popular reading, because the node of detachment occupies the house of release. Jupiter in a kendra or trikona, aspecting Ketu or the 12th with his 5th, 7th, or 9th sight, turns the same signature toward a teacher, a practice, or a coherent faith. Ketu alone can be mere withdrawal. Jupiter gives it a doctrine.

The 12th also rules expenditure, hospitals, ashrams, and life away from the birthplace. A 12th-house emphasis can be an overseas career, a research retreat, or a budget that never stays in the 2nd. Calling every 12th-house Ketu a moksha yoga ignores a strong 10th lord and a running career dasha. The chart can hold both: public work in Saturn's nineteen years and a private practice in Ketu's seven. Rahu, always opposite Ketu, will then sit in the 6th if Ketu is in the 12th, which pulls worldly appetite and service into the opposite house. The axis is the whole story. Moksha is one pole of it.

Ketu mahadasha lasts seven years. Jupiter's lasts sixteen. The 12th lord's period belongs to whichever graha owns the 12th sign from the lagna. For Mesha that lord is Jupiter, because Meena is the 12th, so Jupiter's dasha is both guru and moksha-house lord. For Vrishabha the 12th lord is Mars. The same yoga name hides different lords.
