Count the 5th and the 7th from the lagna, name their lords, and see whether those two grahas share a sign, see each other by aspect, or have swapped signs. Mars aspects the 4th, 7th, and 8th from himself. Jupiter aspects the 5th, 7th, and 9th. Saturn aspects the 3rd, 7th, and 10th. Every graha aspects the 7th from itself. So a 5th lord opposite the 7th lord is in mutual 7th aspect, which counts. A mere friendship between the Moon signs of two people is a different test, Ashtakoota, used for matching two charts. Venus in the 5th colors romance with Venus's nature: attraction, agreements, and comfort. Venus in the 7th colors the spouse the same way. None of these placements should be read from the Sun sign. None of them bypass D9. Write down the years: the 5th lord's mahadasha length depends on which graha it is. If the 5th lord is Jupiter, that window is sixteen years. If the 7th lord is Venus, that window is twenty. The overlap that matters is the antardasha of one inside the mahadasha of the other. Sun antardasha inside Venus mahadasha lasts one year, because 20 times 6 divided by 120 is 1.
