Sun Conjunct Saturn: Enemies in One Sign

The Sun rules vitality, the father, office, and visibility. Saturn rules labor, endurance, coldness, and the slow fruit of deeds. In the myth Saturn is born to the Sun and Chhaya, and in the graha friendship table they are enemies anyway. Together they often show a life in which rank arrives late, or a father relationship that is heavy, or a career that demands more hours than applause. That is a tendency of the yoga, read with the sign they share. The Sun is exalted in Mesha and debilitated in Tula. Saturn is exalted in Tula and debilitated in Mesha. The conjunction cannot put both in exaltation at once.

In the 1st, the body and the manner carry both heat and restraint, and the native often feels watched by duty. In the 7th, partnership meets delay, age difference, or a spouse who embodies Saturn's seriousness, and the 7th lord still has to confirm it in D9. In the 10th, karma is public and slow: authority is available, and Saturn will not hand it over early in the dasha. For any other house the same rule holds. The conjunction colors the matters of that house, and Saturn looks at the 3rd, 7th, and 10th from it. A conjunction in the 9th, for example, touches dharma directly and looks at the 11th, the 3rd, and the 6th. Listing twelve identical fortunes would fake a precision the yoga does not have.

There is no erasure of a conjunction. Sunday is the Sun's day and Saturday is Saturn's. A disciplined Saturday practice, service to people who do hard physical work, and a clean relationship with the father or with elders are the conducts associated with this pair. Strengthening the lord of the sign they occupy matters more than a generic gem. The Sun never retrogrades, so the conjunction's motion is Saturn's problem: when Saturn is vakri he revisits the Sun's degree area, and when he is direct he separates.
