Rajabhanga Spoils a Raja Yoga in the Planets That Formed It

First there must be a raja yoga, a kendra lord with a trikona lord. Then the same planets fail by sign or house. That failure is the bhanga.

No raja yoga, no bhanga

Rajabhanga yoga is the spoiling of a raja yoga, and it is judged on the same planets that formed the raja yoga. A raja yoga itself is a kendra lord joined to a trikona lord by conjunction, aspect, or exchange. If those two planets are sound, there is nothing to break. If one of them is debilitated, combust, or placed in the 6th, 8th, or 12th, the yoga is considered broken or badly delayed. The Sun and Saturn in the 10th are not automatically rajabhanga. They are a conjunction. Bhanga applies when a real kendra-trikona pair is damaged. Naming every hard chart a broken raja yoga invents a throne the person never had.

Debilitation and dusthana

A 9th lord fallen in its debilitation sign, while conjunct the 10th lord, forms the geometry and spoils the fruit. Neecha bhanga, if the dispositor or the exaltation lord is in a kendra from the lagna or the Moon, repairs the fall and should be checked before you announce bhanga. Combustion near the Sun is a calculated weakness, not a guess, and the Sun itself is not combust. A yoga lord in the 8th may still give a rise through crisis, which is closer to a viparita story than to a clean raja yoga. Call it mixed. The 12th is expense and foreign life, so a yoga lord there spends the status or moves it abroad. That is a kind of bhanga of the easy version, and a life of another kind.

Unused is not broken

A perfect raja yoga whose lords never run in the years you care about is unused. It is not rajabhanga. Jupiter's 16 years or Saturn's 19, if they own the yoga, are when you look. A short Sun antardasha can show a glimpse. People feel ordinary and assume the yoga broke. Often the antardasha belongs to a planet outside the yoga. Check the sequence from the Moon's nakshatra before you check for spoilage. If the planets are both fallen and the dasha is running, then bhanga is the right word: the chapter came, and the tools were weak.

Frequently asked questions

What has to exist before rajabhanga?

A raja yoga: a kendra lord related to a trikona lord. If that pair is absent, a hard life is some other pattern, not a broken throne.

Does debilitation always break it?

It damages the planet. Neecha bhanga can cancel the fall if the chart conditions are met. Check cancellation before you declare the yoga ruined.

Is a silent yoga a broken yoga?

No. If the lords have not run, the yoga is waiting. Bhanga is damage to the planets, not the mere absence of their dasha.
