A Solar Eclipse Is a New Moon Near Rahu or Ketu

A solar eclipse is a new Moon that falls near Rahu or Ketu, so the Sun, the Moon, and a node stack on one side of the sky. Amavasya without a node is an ordinary new Moon and not an eclipse. The eclipse is visible only on a narrow path of the Earth, so most new Moons near a node are not spectacles where you stand. The natal question is different from visibility. If your Sun is strong in Aries in the 10th, an eclipse on that Sun is a public-career stir, not a doom. If your Sun is fallen, the eclipse does not create the fall. The fall was natal.
