Jaimini Reads Marriage from the Upapada and the Darakaraka

Jaimini ranks grahas by how far each has advanced inside its current sign. The planet farthest along is the atmakaraka. The planet least advanced is the darakaraka, the significator of the spouse. You do not need to publish a degree to use the idea, but you do need a real calculation. Guessing the darakaraka from a Sun sign is impossible. Marriage is then read from the darakaraka's sign and from the Upapada, the arudha of the 12th, which Jaimini uses for the marriage as a visible matter. The Parashari 7th lord still exists. Jaimini does not delete it. It adds a second language. If you only rename the 7th lord as darakaraka, you are not reading Jaimini.

Jaimini aspects are rashi drishti. A movable sign aspects the fixed signs except the one beside it. A fixed sign aspects the movable signs except the one beside it. Dual signs aspect the other dual signs. Planets in those signs cast the sign's aspect. This is different from Mars's 4th and 8th aspects or Saturn's 3rd and 10th in Parashari. A prediction that mixes the two systems without saying so will aspect the wrong house. Chara dasha is a sign dasha, not a nakshatra dasha. Vimshottari from the Moon's nakshatra remains the Parashari clock. Using chara dasha means you have left the 120-year nakshatra sequence on purpose. Say which clock you are using.

For marriage, calculate the seven karakas from the true longitudes, note the darakaraka, note the Upapada, and note which sign dasha is running. Then look back at the Parashari 7th lord and see whether the two languages agree. Agreement is a stronger statement than either alone. Conflict means say conflict, not pick the flattering one. The lagna still comes from the birth city and the zone offset. Jaimini does not forgive a wrong clock. It will rank karakas precisely for a birth that did not happen. Learn one rule at a time. Sign aspect, then karaka rank, then Upapada. A chart explained only with Sanskrit labels and no sign named has not been read.
