A Yoga Is a Relationship Between Grahas, Not a Panchang Name

A yoga in the kundli is a relationship between grahas: conjunction in one rashi, mutual aspect, or parivartana, an exchange of signs. House lordship turns the geometry into a life topic. A kendra lord joined to a trikona lord is the basic raja yoga. The 2nd lord joined to the 11th lord is a basic dhana yoga. The 9th lord and Venus in own or exaltation signs in kendras or trikonas is Lakshmi yoga in Phaladeepika. None of these is the yoga limb of the panchang, which is a daily sum of the Sun and Moon and has names like Siddhi that do not require a lagna. If a page mixes the two, it will tell you today's sky gave you a raja yoga. It did not.

The same conjunction of the 9th and 10th lords is a famous raja yoga when both are sound, and a tired one when one is debilitated. Rajabhanga is the spoiling of that promise: debilitation, combustion, or the yoga lords stuck in the 6th, 8th, or 12th. A yoga that never receives its dasha is not broken. It is unused. Jupiter's mahadasha is 16 years. If Jupiter is one of the yoga lords, those 16 years are when you look for the result. Mercury with the Sun is so common, because Mercury stays near the Sun, that Budha-Aditya should not be treated as a rare blessing. Frequency is not the same as strength. Strength is sign, house, and aspect.

Test Hamsa: Jupiter in a kendra in Cancer, Sagittarius, or Pisces. Test Gajakesari: Jupiter in a kendra from the Moon. Test Kemadruma: no planet in the 2nd or 12th from the Moon, unless a kendra is occupied. Test Shasha: Saturn in a kendra in Libra, Capricorn, or Aquarius. Four tests teach the method. A website that lists forty names without the houses will not. Mahapurusha yogas are the five dignified kendra placements of Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. Viparita raja yogas are dusthana lords in dusthanas, a rise through crisis, not the same as a kendra-trikona raja yoga. Learn the class before you memorize the title.
