The Venus Rule People Call Vyabhichari, and Its Limits

Phaladeepika, in its chapter on the 7th, says that when Venus is in a varga of Mars or Saturn, or aspected by those planets, the native has liaisons outside marriage. That is the classical line behind the popular name vyabhichari yoga. It is a condition on Venus, not a sticker you add because Mars and Venus share a sign. Mangal-Shukra conjunction is a different yoga. The verse also sits among many 7th-house rules about the spouse, and it was framed in the language of a man's chart and other men's wives. Turning it into a test of a woman's character copies the sentence onto a person it was not written to grade.

In a woman's chart the 7th house and its lord show the husband, and Jupiter is the husband karaka. Venus remains the karaka of desire and comfort for everyone. If her Venus is aspected by Saturn, you have the technical condition to discuss, and you still do not have a verdict. Aspect by Saturn can just as easily describe a serious, delayed, or dutiful love life. Navamsa can reverse the tone. A blog that lists a dozen scandal combinations, including ones no standard text supports, is not reading her kundli. One verse, checked against the actual varga, is the most the name can bear. Even then it is a risk of reading, not a fact about her conduct.

Vyabhichara as a yoga name has been used to shame women. The chart work, if someone insists on the verse, is private and narrow: is Venus in a Mars or Saturn division, or under their aspect, and what does the 7th lord say? If the answer is no, the yoga is absent. If the answer is yes, the 7th lord and D9 still govern marriage, and a human life is not a sloka. There is no upay on this page for policing a spouse. The useful reading of the 7th is whether the bond is supported, delayed, or under a separative dasha. Character is not a house you get to assign.
