The 12th House Is Vyaya, the Last Sign Before the Lagna

The 12th house is vyaya, the house of expenditure, and it is the sign immediately before the lagna, so it is the last sign before the ascendant returns. For a Taurus lagna the 12th is Aries, ruled by Mars. For a Scorpio lagna the 12th is Libra, ruled by Venus. The topics do not change with the sign: spending, foreign residence, sleep, sexual pleasure in traditional lists, hospitals, ashrams, and moksha as release. The sign changes the lord who must pay for those topics. A well placed 12th lord spends cleanly on a life abroad or on a private practice. A fallen 12th lord spends and does not know on what.
