Strong Saturn, Weak Saturn, and the Myth of No Luck

Saturn is the karaka of endurance and of the fruits of work, and a strong Saturn in a kendra organizes life while a weak Saturn fails the houses it rules. Shasha yoga, one of the five mahapurusha yogas, forms when Saturn sits in a kendra in Libra, Capricorn, or Aquarius. That is authority and stamina, not a vow of hardship. A debilitated Saturn in Aries without cancellation is the chart that cannot enforce its own houses. People still call both charts unlucky. The charts are doing opposite things.

Bhagya is the 9th house and its lord, with Jupiter as the karaka. Saturn denies that luck only when it occupies the 9th, aspects the 9th lord, or rules the 9th and is itself damaged. Saturn ruling the 9th for a Taurus lagna is a yogakaraka, so Saturn is the luck lord, not the thief of it. Calling every Saturn period a stretch of no luck ignores that lordship. The 8th and 12th are where a damaged Saturn is harder to live with, because those houses already mean rupture and expense. Even there, the sign Saturn occupies can hold the damage down.

Heavy seasons belong to the mahadasha that is running. Saturn's own 19 years feel heavy when Saturn is weak or rules dusthanas. They feel like a long construction when Saturn is in Shasha yoga. Rahu's 18 years can look like bad luck and have nothing to do with Saturn's strength. Separate the grahas before you accept a story that Saturn spoiled the chart. Read the 9th lord's sign. If the 9th lord is exalted and unafflicted, the chart has luck Saturn has not cancelled. If you cannot find Saturn's sign, you cannot yet say whether strength or weakness is the reason life feels slow.
