Choosing a Yantra from the Chart's House Lord

A planetary yantra is a diagram assigned to one of the nine grahas. The birth chart does not contain a yantra. It contains lords. The lagna lord carries the body and the direction of the life. The 10th lord carries work the world can see. The 7th lord carries marriage and, in trade, partnerships. Pick the house the question is actually about, then look at that lord's sign and condition. A Shri yantra is a general prosperity diagram. It is not a substitute for reading the 2nd and 11th lords when the question is money.

If the chosen lord is exalted, in its own sign, or supported by a friend, a yantra is at most a devotional focus. If that lord is debilitated or hemmed into the 6th, 8th, or 12th, the chart problem is the lordship, not the absence of a diagram. Strengthening a graha that rules only difficult houses can emphasize those houses. That is why a Saturn yantra is a different decision for a Libra lagna, where Saturn rules the 4th and 5th, than for a lagna where Saturn rules the 8th. The figure on the plate cannot see that difference. The kundli can.

Even a well chosen yantra does not start a mahadasha. Vimshottari is already running from the Moon's birth nakshatra. If you are in Mercury's 17 years, a yantra for Jupiter waits for Jupiter's antardasha or for a question Jupiter actually rules. Install nothing because a shop assigns yantras by Moon sign alone. The Moon sign is one rashi. The lagna lord may be a different graha. Note the birth city and the time, cast the lagna, name the house lord, and only then ask whether a diagram for that graha belongs in the practice at all.
