Choose a Gem from the Dasha Lord or the Lagna Lord

The right gem is not the one a list calls lucky. It is the stone of a graha you have decided to feed: either the mahadasha lord, if that lord helps the lagna, or the lagna lord, if its second house is acceptable. Ruby, pearl, coral, emerald, yellow sapphire, diamond, blue sapphire, hessonite, and cat's eye are only the minerals. The choice is the lordship.

Start with the period you are in

If Jupiter's 16-year mahadasha is running and Jupiter rules your 5th and 9th, yellow sapphire matches the chapter and the trines. If the same Jupiter rules your 6th and 9th, as it does for Karka, the stone feeds debt and fortune together. The dasha does not excuse the dusthana. If Rahu's 18 years are running, hessonite feeds the node in whatever house Rahu occupies. That is the wrong automatic choice when Rahu is in the 8th. Feed the dispositor instead, if the dispositor's houses are clean. A gem for a graha whose period is not running is a background support at best. It will not change the mahadasha lord.

The lagna lord as the other candidate

Mars for Mesha and Vrishchika, but Mars also rules the 8th for Mesha and the 6th for Vrishchika. Venus for Vrishabha and Tula, with the 6th also ruled for Vrishabha and the 8th for Tula. Mercury for Mithuna and Kanya. The Moon for Karka, the only lagna lord with a single sign. The Sun for Simha, also a single sign. Jupiter for Dhanu and Meena. Saturn for Makara and Kumbha. Single-sign lords are simpler. Two-sign lords always bring a second house. Write it down. If the second house is the 8th, hesitate. A 'right' stone that feeds the 8th is right only if you wanted the 8th louder.

Order of the decision

Name the lagna. Name the dasha lord. Name both houses of each candidate. Reject a dusthana feed you cannot justify. Then, and only then, match the mineral and the weekday: Sunday ruby, Monday pearl, Tuesday coral, Wednesday emerald, Thursday yellow sapphire, Friday diamond, Saturday blue sapphire, with hessonite and cat's eye often placed on Saturday because the nodes have no vara. The weekday does not rescue a bad lordship. If no candidate survives the test, wear nothing. That is a valid horoscope choice.

Frequently asked questions

Should I wear the stone of a weak planet?

Only if 'weak' means a functional benefic that is fallen or afflicted, and you accept its houses. Weak dusthana lords get louder when fed. Weakness alone is not a prescription.

Is the lagna lord always safe?

The Moon and the Sun own one sign, so their lagna-lord stones have no second dusthana from lordship. Every other lagna lord owns two signs. Check the second before you call it safe.

Can I wear two gems for two wishes?

Only if you have two grahas whose houses you both accept. Two stones are two feeds. They do not cancel each other, and they do not cover a wish that neither graha rules.
