Counting Yogas Only When the Definition Holds

For a given lagna, list kendra lords and trikona lords. Each real conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange between the lists is one raja yoga. The 1st lord may stand on either side. A second lordship that is a dusthana does not erase the count. It annotates it. Five such links, three of them between fallen grahas, are five weak yogas, not five thrones. One link between an exalted 9th lord and a strong 10th lord, in its dasha, outweighs the pile. People who advertise '32 yogas' have usually counted every aspect in the sky. Ask which definition, which two lords, and which dasha.

Adhi yoga needs benefics in the 6th, 7th, and 8th from the Moon, not one benefic. Lakshmi yoga in the Phaladeepika sense needs both Venus and the 9th lord in own or exaltation in a kendra or trikona. Durdhara needs planets other than the Sun on both sides of the Moon. Kaal Sarp needs all seven star-planets on one side of the nodal axis. If you cannot show the gate, the yoga is not present. Partial patterns can be described in plain language. They should not inherit the name. The Sun and Moon never form a Mahapurush yoga. Adding them to the count is a mistake, not a bonus.

A chart can contain Hamsa and feel nothing like it during a Rahu mahadasha that does not touch Jupiter. The yoga is natal. The year belongs to the lords who are running. Count the yogas whose lords are the mahadasha or antardasha. That shorter list is the honest answer to 'how many are present' in a life rather than on a page. Remedies do not add a yoga the birth did not form. An exchange you do not have cannot be purchased. Open the chart, apply the gates, and stop.
