Whether the chart shows children is read from the 5th house, the 5th lord, and Jupiter as putra karaka. That trio would be the wrong trio for marriage, which is the 7th and Venus or Jupiter in a different role. The Moon can support the matter. The saptamsa, D7, is the division used for children, just as D9 is used for the spouse. A 5th lord in the 5th, the 9th, or the 10th is a clearer promise than a 5th lord in the 6th, 8th, or 12th. Even the harder placement is not a no. It can show delay, difficulty, or children through a less direct path, and it has to be confirmed in D7 and in the dasha. An empty 5th means no graha sits there. The lord can still give children from another house. Counting grahas in the 5th and declaring a number of children is a crude method this page will not teach as fact.

A kundli does not diagnose infertility, and it does not predict a dangerous birth. Those are medical questions. The chart can say the 5th lord is weak or that Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn, and a physician can say something the chart must not overrule. Adoption, in some readings, is considered when the 5th is afflicted and the 9th or another house of receiving is strong. That is an interpretive lean, not a rule that anyone should plan a family by. The partner's 5th house matters as much as yours. One strong 5th and one badly damaged 5th are a shared question. Timing, if a child is promised, falls in the dasha of the 5th lord or Jupiter. Jupiter's mahadasha is 16 years. The 5th lord's antardasha may be the tighter window. A year a column calls fertile for a sun sign is not this calculation.

If the 5th lord, Jupiter, and D7 all fail, a careful jyotishi may say the promise looks thin. That sentence should stay thin. It should not become a lifetime ban, because cancellation, a later dasha, and the other parent's chart exist. If they all hold, the sentence is that the promise looks present, not that a child will arrive in a named year without the dasha being calculated from the birth time. Remedies and gems do not create a 5th house. Yellow sapphire strengthens Jupiter only when Jupiter should be strengthened, and it is not a fertility drug. For Taurus lagna Jupiter rules the 8th, so the 'children's gem' can be the wrong stone. Read the 5th. Refuse the medical claim. Keep the partner's chart in the conversation.
