Life Path Numbers Do Not Choose a Jyotish Gem
Life path numbers reduce a birth date to a digit, sometimes keeping 11, 22, or 33. Navaratna gems are assigned to the nine grahas, and the graha is chosen from the lagna's lordships. No digit in the numerology set is a house lord. A lucky-gem table keyed to life path is two systems glued together.

What the number can and cannot see
The reduction uses the calendar date. It does not use the birth time, so it never sees the lagna. Without the lagna it cannot know whether Jupiter rules the 9th or the 8th. Yellow sapphire for 'life path 3' or for any other digit feeds Jupiter in every chart, including charts where Jupiter rules dusthanas. The same objection hits ruby for 1, pearl for 2, and the rest of those popular grids. They borrow the navaratna names and throw away the only Jyotish reason for wearing them, which is lordship.
If you want a graha anyway
Ignore the digit and name the lagna lord. That is the nearest thing to a 'personal' graha, and it still has a second house in every case except the Sun and the Moon, who own one sign each. The Sun owns only Simha. If Simha is not rising, the Sun is not the chart's lord, even if a numerologist calls you a 1. Rahu and Ketu remain hessonite and cat's eye, judged by house, and no life path number lands on a node. Master number 33 does not become Jupiter. Jupiter is the guru karaka whether your digits sum to 3 or to 33 or to 8.
Luck, if the word is required
The 9th house and its lord are fortune. A gem for the 9th lord is the only 'luck stone' sentence Jyotish can almost endorse, and only when that lord does not also rule a dusthana you cannot afford to feed. For Mesha the 9th lord is Jupiter, who also rules the 12th. Yellow sapphire is then fortune and loss together. For Vrishabha the 9th lord is Saturn, who also rules the 10th and is yogakaraka. Blue sapphire is a different bet, still not a life-path bet. Calculate the lord. Leave the digit on the calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a standard gem for life path 1, 5, or 9?
Not in Jyotish. Those tables are numerology merchandising. The navaratna list answers to grahas. Grahas answer to the lagna.
Does 33 correspond to yellow sapphire?
No. Thirty-three is a kept digit sum. Yellow sapphire is Jupiter's stone. Jupiter's houses come from the rising sign, which the digit does not contain.
What should I wear for luck, then?
First see whether the 9th lord is a graha you can feed without also feeding a dusthana it rules. If you cannot answer that, wear nothing. The 9th lord's dasha is the timing. A stone is optional and secondary.
