The One-Faced Rudraksha and the Chart It Does Not Replace

Rudraksha beads are classed by the number of faces, the mukhis. One face is the Shiva bead in that classification, kept for a concentrated, austere devotion rather than for a house lord you calculated. The Sun link, where it is taught, borrows the idea that Shiva's bead can stand near the solar principle: authority, vitality in the classical sense, the father karaka. That is an analogy between two traditions. It is not a statement that the Sun occupies Simha, or that the Sun is the lagna lord. For a Kanya lagna the Sun rules the 12th. Wearing a solar bead because a catalog said 'confidence' feeds a solar symbol while the 12th lordship goes unread.

Ek mukhi beads are scarce, and scarce objects attract guarantees: health, rank, debt relief. Those guarantees are not yogas. The 10th house and its lord still describe work. The 6th still describes illness and debt. A bead on the body does not aspect the 10th the way Jupiter does. If a person wants a solar discipline that Jyotish actually times, Sunday is the Sun's vara, and the Sun's mahadasha is 6 years when it comes. The bead can be a focus for attention during that period. It cannot start the period early, and it cannot cure a disease the 6th house is only flagging for a physician.

If you wear it, wear it as a Shiva bead or as a chosen solar symbol, and say which you mean. Do not read a promotion, a marriage, or a recovery backward from the bead. Read the lagna lord, the relevant house lord, and the dasha. Ruby remains the Sun's gem in the navaratna list, with the same warning: it feeds the Sun's houses, including dusthanas. An ek mukhi is not a ruby and not a substitute for that decision. The chart is still cast from the birth city and the Lahiri lagna. A bead does not geocode anything.
