Gemstones Everyone Can Wear

No gemstone is suitable for everyone, because every navaratna strengthens one graha, and every graha rules different houses from different lagnas. Pearl is the usual candidate for a 'mild, common' stone, since it belongs to the Moon and the Moon is the mind. For Karka lagna the Moon is the lagna lord, so pearl can support the chart's spine. For Makara lagna the Moon rules the 7th, a different department, marriage, and it is not a vitamin. For a lagna where the Moon rules the 6th or the 8th, a common pearl is a common mistake. Ruby fails the same test outside solar reasons. Coral fails it when Mars rules the 8th, as it does for Mesha lagna, where Mars rules the 1st and the 8th together.

Betterment has to name a house. Career betterment is the 10th lord. Marriage betterment is the 7th lord and Venus or Jupiter as karaka. Learning is the 4th and Mercury. Wealth is the 2nd and the 11th. A single stone sold for all of these would have to be the lord of all of these, which no lagna allows. Diamond for comfort, yellow sapphire for wisdom, and emerald for speech are three grahas. Wearing all three 'for betterment' strengthens Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury even if one of them is the 8th lord. The lagna lord, when it is weak and not also a dusthana lord, is the closest thing to a general support, and it is different for each of the twelve ascendants. Simha's general support is the Sun. Mithuna's is Mercury. They are not interchangeable.

Everyone can cast the chart before buying. Everyone can refuse a stone chosen from a birth month. Everyone can take a stone off if the houses of that graha worsen. Those are universal rules, and they are not gems. Mantra has the same limit: a graha mantra is for that graha, not for mankind as a single customer. The Vimshottari lord running now is the personal candidate, still subject to the functional test. If that lord is Rahu, 'everyone wears hessonite' is the opposite of careful practice. If the lord is Jupiter and Jupiter rules the 9th and the 10th, yellow sapphire becomes thinkable for that person alone. The betterment is the match. The common list is the hazard.
