Appearance and the Lagna

The lagna is the first house of the self, and classical description of stature, complexion, and bearing starts there and with its lord. Mars rising often reads as heat and directness. Saturn rising often reads as a leaner or more deliberate frame. These are tendencies in the texts, not a portrait you can demand from a birthday. The Moon colors the face people remember when the Moon is strong or angular. The Sun colors authority in the bearing when it joins the lagna. None of this is a twelve-type beauty chart, and none of it is medical.

The lagna moves in about two hours. Two people born on the same date can have different rising signs and different descriptions. Daylight saving and the zone offset can cause that split. Lahiri sidereal rising is the one to use. A tropical rising sign is often the previous sidereal sign, so a tropical appearance column describes the wrong lord. The second house is wealth and speech, the mouth and the voice, sometimes included when texts describe the face. It is still not a sun-sign accessory list.

No rashi is told to wear a look, grow a beard, or lose a feature. The tenth house of career may ask for a uniform. That is social.
