Sun and Saturn Parivartana

Parivartana yoga is an exchange of signs. The Sun owns Leo. Saturn owns Capricorn and Aquarius. The yoga exists when Saturn is in Leo and the Sun is in Capricorn, or Saturn is in Leo and the Sun is in Aquarius. Both versions are real exchanges. The Sun's enemies include Saturn, and Saturn's enemies include the Sun, the Moon, and Mars. Enmity describes temperament between grahas. It does not switch off a yoga that the occupancy creates. The houses those lords rule for the lagna are tied together. That tie is the point.

For an Aries lagna, the Sun rules the fifth of children and Saturn rules the tenth of career and the eleventh of gains, so the exchange ties children to career and income. For a different lagna the pair of houses changes. Always name the lagna before you praise the yoga. The first house is the self. If one of the two grahas rules it, identity is inside the exchange. Debility can coexist: the Sun is debilitated in Libra, not in Saturn's signs, and Saturn is debilitated in Aries, not in Leo. Dignity here is about the exchange, not about exaltation.

Sun mahadasha lasts 6 years. Saturn's lasts 19. Each will activate both houses, because each lord sits in the other's sign. That is why exchange yogas feel busy in both periods. Lahiri signs are required. A tropical Saturn in Leo may be sidereal Cancer, and then there is no exchange at all. Do not force the yoga to answer a question about a person who left. It answers which houses in this chart must work as one.
