Jupiter's Aspect and Rahu

Jupiter sees the 5th, 7th, and 9th signs from its own place, besides the sign it occupies. If Rahu sits in one of those signs, classical practice treats the node as guided rather than loose. Guided is not deleted. Rahu still gives the result of its sign lord and of any graha it joins. The house remains. Rahu in the eleventh of gains can still enlarge appetite and income. Rahu in the eighth of longevity is still an eighth-house placement, not a medical story and not a fame story. Jupiter's glance changes the tone. It does not evacuate the house.

When Jupiter and Rahu share a sign, the popular name is Guru Chandal. That is not Jupiter winning. It is a mixed yoga: counsel and inflation in one room. The sign lord has to be strong if the mix is to teach rather than merely agitate. The ninth house is dharma. Guru Chandal in the ninth can disturb teachers and beliefs and also produce an unusual teacher. Do not call that overpowered Rahu. Call it a conjunction and read the lord. The lagna, the first house of the self, shows whether the native can use the mix.

Jupiter mahadasha lasts 16 years. Rahu's lasts 18. A Jupiter-Rahu antardasha tests the aspect or the conjunction directly. Outside it, natal Jupiter still aspects whatever it aspects, quietly. Lahiri signs decide whether the aspect actually lands. A tropical Jupiter may be looking at a different Rahu. No degree is invented to force a trine. If the aspect is absent, do not claim that Jupiter has saved the chart. Read Rahu's dispositor instead.
