Career Choices and the Tenth Lord
Career choices follow the tenth house of the person choosing, and the tenth lord's Vimshottari period. The Sun mahadasha lasts 6 years when the Sun is that timer. Someone else's public story is not this house.
The tenth lord is the vocational graha
The tenth house is career. Its lord, the grahas that occupy the tenth, and the Sun when it joins them, describe the kind of work. Mercury leans to speech, trade, and accounts, which also touch the second house of wealth and speech. Mars leans to the sixth house of conflict and to the third of courage, useful in uniformed or technical posts. Jupiter leans to the ninth house of dharma, teaching and counsel. These are tendencies. They are not a ranked list of jobs, and they are not taken from a famous person's life.
The period has to hire you
A perfect tenth lord in a dasha that never arrives in your working years stays natal. The tenth lord's mahadasha, or its antardasha inside the running period, is when the choice becomes a door. Saturn mahadasha lasts 19 years and often frames a long profession. Rahu's 18 can frame an unusual one. The eleventh house is gains. A career that never touches the eleventh is a title without pay. Read both before you quit a job because a column liked your rashi.
Lahiri lords, not a fan chart
The lagna under Lahiri fixes the tenth lord. A wrong birth time assigns career to the wrong graha. Daylight saving can cause that error. Jyotish does not borrow a celebrity's tenth house as a template. Their Moon nakshatra is not yours, so their Vimshottari is not your hiring season. Choose from your own map.
Frequently asked questions
Which house is the career choice?
The tenth, and the dasha of its lord. The sixth is conflict and service. The eleventh is whether the work pays.
How long is the Sun mahadasha?
Six years. It matters for career when the Sun rules or occupies the tenth, not as a universal career clock.
Can another person's chart guide the choice?
No. Their lagna and Moon nakshatra time their life. Your tenth lord times yours.
